Franklin Mutual Fund Latest News | Supreme Court Directs Franklin To Distribute 9000 crore Lying in Cash

On 2nd Feb 2021, Supreme Court has directed Franklin to distribute 9190 crores lying as surplus cash to it's unitholders within next 20 days, from the 6 schemes which were shut down last year.

Following is the amount of cash lying with schemes as of 15th Jan 2021.

Franklin India Ultra Short Bond Fund: 5084 Crores

Franklin India Low Duration Fund: 1631 Crores

Franklin India Short Term Income Plan: 496 Crores

Franklin India Credit Risk Fund: 941 Crores

Franklin India Dynamic Accrual Fund: 1039 Crores

The distribution of money will be handled by SBI Mutual Fund.

So far, there is no clarity on second vote regarding who should be handling the winding up process.
